A Day in the Life of Ginny

A Day in the Life of Ginny

By popular demand over in my group chat, this week’s Tea Time with Ginny is all about what a day looks like for me, QUILT’s Queen Sheep!

The last time the sun rose before seven o’clock in the morning was over a week ago, so the flock and I have been able to sleep in a bit more as the seasons change. We usually rise with the sun when dawn breaks over the rolling hills of northern Virginia. This morning’s sunrise was truly picturesque — the light beamed through the fog and the trees lining the edge of the farm’s property line. I snuck away from the barn to enjoy it before the rest of my friends followed suit.

Like any typical morning, I grazed the pasture grasses enjoying the dew covered herbs and clovers. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Did you know that the plants are most full of sugars in the morning? We can geek out over how this happens another time. It’s kind of like having a cookie with coffee for human! TBH, if I were a human, I think I’d prefer herbal tea over coffee, but that’s just personal preference — I’d imagine nettle or a chamomile and clover blend would do the daily trick for me.

After breakfast, I headed back to the barn to get some work done. It’s not normal for the flock to separate, but duty called. I spent some time sifting through emails, responding to DMs and planning the next few weeks of content with the bosses. There are some exciting things coming soon! I can hardly keep my muzzle shut, but unfortunately I have to… for now.

Before Farmer Francis caught me working overtime, I scurried back out to the pasture to meet up with the rest of the flock. Francis would have a heart attack if he knew what I’ve been up to behind the barn doors! He did what any good and ethical farmer does and checked all of our hooves, and made sure that none of us showed any signs of illness or injury. He filled up our troughs and ensured the fences were secured before he moseyed his way back to the farm gift shop for the rest of the day.

I managed to get in some much needed cardio after Farmer Francis left us to our grazing. While humans may opt for a pilates or HIIT class, I have the luxury of frolicking along the Virginia countryside with my girls. Don’t be too jealous!

I snuck back into the barn to quickly hop on a call with Sophie, Anna and our manufacturer about product expansion and our next product line [(sh)eep!] before spending the late afternoon grazing again with the flock. I packed my saddlebag with the essentials for a mid-graze rest — a quilt to lounge on, A Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry (there’s just something about a cute read about humans that makes my heart flutter), honeycomb candy sweet treats (straight from the farm hive!), and of course, QUILT’s The Balm to replenish my lips from a long day in the sun. Here’s my POV of one of my favorite spots on the farm:

Thanks for joining me on this week’s Tea Time with Ginny. I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my life!
